Rugby in General

Rugby is a European sport that is played all over the world. It is not yet popular here in the U.S. Rugby is somewhat like American football but also has many differences. The ball is a lot like a football but is a little bigger. Instead of the teams lining up in different formations the offensive team lines up in a diagonal line with the ball carrier in the lead. You can not pass forward, only backwards. The ball carrier needs to be in the lead at all times. The offensive team advances up the field into the end zone and has to touch the ball down for the touchdown to count. there are no downs when you get tackled you try to place the ball as close to your team mates as possible and then curl into a ball so you don't get stepped on. There are no downs you play the a full game and depending on which skill level your at the game time varies. There are very little pads, depending on what age group your with you are required to wear a padded helmet.

  1. It sounds alot like football and a fun sport. I would rather have pads on when someone hit me.
